The date this whole site is about
Everything on this site is the difference between the book you have been using and the one that governs from that date. Not a course, not a summary. The deltas, with the section numbers, and a public log of the ones we got wrong first.
The three things worth ten minutes
- Article 220 is now Article 120. Every tab and every memorized citation points at the wrong chapter.
- The general lighting figure split rather than changed. Branch circuits and services now use different numbers.
- Amendments issued after publication change the code without changing any printed page. Article 430 gained an entire new section that way.
Written for people who already know the trade
This site is not exam prep and it is not a licensing guide. It assumes you are licensed and working, and that what you need is what moved since the last edition.
Every claim points at a section number so you can check it in about a minute. Nothing here asks to be taken on authority.
What this deliberately is not
It is not a searchable code database and it will not become one. Section numbers are cited. The code text you read in your own copy.
That is a deliberate line, not a limitation we are apologizing for.
When it applies in Texas
Texas adopts the 2026 edition effective September 1, 2026 (16 TAC 73.100).
That is an adoption date, not a switch. Work permitted under the previous edition is generally judged by the previous edition, and local amendments govern locally where they exist.
